FAQ’s

Do you travel to us or do we have to come to your studio?

Yes, we travel. In fact, the choice of where to shoot is always up to you. You may come to our studio, you may choose a remote location that you just love, or we shoot in your home. Or you can create a day in which we combine some or all of these possibilities. Our goal is to always remain flexible. Travel beyond 75 miles of our studio involves a nominal additional charge. We will quote any travel charges at the time of booking of your shoot.

Why do you require a deposit when we book a sitting?

We require a deposit to hold the time. Because we only book a single shoot per day when we book time we want to assure that someone booking the time actually shows up. We know that sounds a bit crass, but we have learned from experience that no-shows happen. If we have reserved time for you then we cannot do so for anyone else. So we require a deposit as an incentive to keep your appointment.

Do you allow a change of clothing?

As many changes as you would like. Remember, we are shooting for 2 to 3 hours so there is plenty of time to accommodate changes of outfits, hair styles, or anything else you might imagine.

How long does it take to get our pictures after our photo session?

Generally you will have proofs within 10 business days, often sooner. Once we finish a shoot we sort through the images, process a number of images and present you with from 20 to 30 proofs from which to make your photo selections. If the session was a mini-session then you can expect between 10 and 20 proofs from which to choose.

Once you order prints it takes between 7 to 10 days to process prints so you can plan on between 10 and 14 days after your order is placed for final prints, often, however, delivery is sooner. For a small increase in price we can do rush orders but proper planning will avoid that necessity.

Is your work copyrighted, and if so, who owns the copyright?

Yes, our work is copyrighted. We guard our copyright zealously but we provide our clients with an unlimited personal use license so that you may freely share the images with your friends and families. If you insist, you may negotiate the granting of all rights and we will surrender our copyright interest in the images of your choice. By guarding our copyright, however, we are able to keep our prices competitive and that is a bonus for you.

Do you shoot events like weddings and such?

The short answer is no. We do not seek weddings any other events. That being said, we will shoot an event for a long standing client as a courtesy to them. We will not shoot an event for new clients. Please don’t take this the wrong way. Events are just not our thing and we would rather not have to do them.

Do you shoot film or digital images?

We only shoot digital images. The plain truth is that what was once a fledgling way to capture images has developed in both quality and creativity to the point of surpassing what one could do with film. We made the switch in 2005 to digital and have never looked back.

Are you insured?

Absolutely. We carry a full line of commercial insurance and are happy to provide certificates of insurance to clients who ask for them.

What do you suggest for clothing changes for a photo shoot?

We suggest that you bring comfortable clothing that fits your lifestyle. Photographs made with comfortable clothes will never appear stilted or somehow off center.

What about makeup?

We suggest that if you are going to apply makeup that it be minimally applied. Bring the makeup you are comfortable with. Should reapplication or touchups be required we will assist you in application. We prefer that you use the makeup you are comfortable using, however, should the need arise we have a stock of generic makeup in the studio.
