Documenting our Landscape

On this site multiple, seemingly impossible, borders are drawn. The Western Wall of the Jewish Temple, one of the holy places for Jews stands in the shadow of the Dome of the Rock and the al-Aqsa mosque, holy sites to the followers of Islam. Below what the Jews refer to as the Temple Mount, at the wall itself, the ultra-conservatives draw lines in the sand that separate Jew from Jew. Women are not allowed on the men’s side of the structure, conservative and reform Jews are made to feel less than welcome, and disrespecting these rules will lead to a violent response from the black hats that have taken over and made the place their own.
