Where does one draw the line between the real and the representation? Here we have an image which, in itself, is a representation. In the case of this image, it is a reflection of a young boy in a large public sculpture in Chicago called Cloud Gate or, more commonly, The Bean. The reflection itself is not the young boy, rather, a representation of the boy. The image further reduces the subject through a further representation of the representation being photographed. There you have it. What part does the boy play in the image? Does he matter at all or am I photographing an object rather than a subject? Where does one draw the line.
