In the recent past the Tiffany glass dome and lamp were restored. In the more recent past I photographed that dome. In the even more recent past I edited the image, cropping to a square, punching the blacks and the whites, and warming ever so slightly the color temperature casting a warm tone in the image. In the even more recent past I uploaded the image to this blog and wrote these accompanying words where, until the very moment that you called this image forward, the image’s digital imprint remained nothing but potential. Now, as you look at the image and read these words you are, in effect, releasing that potential, constructing meaning about and creating stories around the image and implanting direct trace or existential experience to your memory.
